Charles “Boots” Kennedye is a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma and serves as a Documentary Producer for Vision Maker Media after working at The Oklahoma Network (OETA) over the last decade. Kennedye has headed many major projects with the Public Television station and his work has won eight Heartland Emmy®-Awards.
In 2011, he partnered with Rocky Mountain PBS Producer Lisa Olken and Director Larry Pourier (Lakota) to help film and produce “Urban Rez” and once again, in 2014 to produce “Red Power Energy.”
Currently, Kennedye is producing a seven hour documentary series for Vision Maker Media entitled, “Growing Native, “a travelogue that explores the cultural diversity of Native communities across the United States.
Kennedye has played a lead role in more than 150 productions and won numerous accolades from many national press associations including the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Associated Press, and the National Education Television Association.
