India Aleah Hayes is the Founder of The Duty of Design, a design collective that works exclusively with charitable organizations and non-profits. Hayes believes that awe-inspiring design work does not have to cost-extensive to be feasible— all you need is an idea and a cause to spur action, spread awareness, initiate change, and transform lives. Hayes has worked with the National Coalition for the Homeless, My Sister’s House Women’s Shelter, and many other organizations. She is currently working on Duty’s Success Kits Project to empower women in homeless shelters, and works extensively with Trashwater to provide clean water solutions through design+tech in Central America. India is also a designer at CNN on the Interactives team and previously served as Visual Information Specialist at the CDC.
